"Horrible building - High
rent, everything is super
old and mostly broken,
facilities all closed

1. Rent starts high and increases to max allowed every year 2. No maintainence. They give you very old and rusted appliances. Refuse to do any repairs. 3. They charge for visitor parking. 4. Air in the neighborhood is horrible due to many constructions around. 5. All facilities like gym, sauna and pool have been closer for months if not years (since covid), no explanation no plan to reopen despite complain. 6. The foundation of the building looks sinking in the ground. Uncertain if it's even safe to live here. 7. No superintendent or anyone working fur this building. Office is closed and empty all the time. 8. At least 1 elevator is down at all times. 9. The recycling bin is outside the building and it's a bit hassle to recycle. 10. They didn't even turn on AC this year until tenants started a petition. 11. Drug dealing is rampant in this building (I see people trade but it doesn't really bother me as there are bigger problems) 12. Mold in ceilings and in walls. 13. Cockroaches running free and build an empire in the building (I live on high floor around 5 cockroaches living with me now, but it doesn't really bother me as there are bigger problems) 14. Almost everyone I know living on the building are complaining. 15. Toilet doesn't flush well and there's no hot water from time to time. And the list goes on...

"Cockroaches Everywhere"

Moved in about 4 months ago. Been dealing with a huge cockroach infestation ever since. Every 2 weeks pest control comes in and sprays, which I have to leave my apartment for 6 hours (I work from home). I get cockroach’s are hard to get rid of, but I’ve been paying $1,700/month to live in this and been really patient so far. Not even really sure what to do anymore except try to get out of my lease and find a new apartment.

"Good for singles/young
couples in good health,
Bad for everyone else"

If you are single or young couple without kids, this building is not bad. Commute is good and indoor parking is provided (tho parking lost is very dirty, trash everywhere and white stuff coming off from ceiling). Facilities are old, enclosed (no windows) and haunting but can be utilized. Elevators break down all the time but walking up stairs can be good exercise. Building is old and windows are leaking winds but if you are healthy you can deal with it. As a single living on low floor I have no complaint. But if you have elderly, disabled and young kids in your family, you need to think twice. Can you afford not having elevators if/when emergency happens? Can you pick up your strollers and walk up stairs? How about people in wheelchairs? There are times when ALL elevators are down. One time a tenant in wheelchair got stuck at the lobby without elevators. I don't know how he got home.

This building sucks! Management is horrible! They don't replace nor repair old broken stuff. Everything is 30+ years old. They like to kick out old tenants and welcome new tenants for higher rent.

It is a horrible building. Management are lazy and rude. They are not at all helpful and will even get back to you, like keep sending you inspection notice just to cause you troubles.

"Avoid this building at no

After I moved in I kept asking myself why would I chose to live in a condo building and paid $15K/month with parking, hydro, tenant insurance yet the building doesn't even have working elevators? I was late for work for another 15 minutes this morning because of no elevators and I needed to take the stairs. It is sooooo frustrating and that happens more than half of the time. I plan to move out as soon as my tenant contract is up as I think it will cost me my job if I keep moving there under this condition. AVOID living in this building at all cost unless you are living on pension or welfare which you have all the patience in this world to wait for broken elevators or walk up and down stairs EVERY DAY!!

"Elevators are down all
the time!"

OMG! I am renting an unit here for less than 1 year and at least 1 elevators were down for 8 months! 90% of the time only 2 elevators are running for all households. With broken programming those 2 elevators are mostly moving together and it takes 20+ minutes to get in one. I live on the 20+ floor and now I am running out of patience and don't know how to deal with this situation except from moving out at once when my lease is up! P.S.: The superintendents in this building are never at their office!!

I live on the 4th floor and hardly use elevator due to long waiting time. I feel for the elderly who live on upper floors, wonder how they can manage - maybe they just have a lot of patience.

I can't believe how bad Kaneff is for their management. All they know is to send us rent increase notice every single year. But nothing has improved in the building. At least provide tenants with working elevators man! Kaneff's aim is to make the tenants suffer and wait for the next stupid newbies to move in and pay higher rent. There are hardly long term tenants there - old people likely die of sudden conditions as no elevators for emergency service to reach to them. I always see ambulance parking downstairs and every time I was wondering who the victim is.

"old bad torn building
with broken everything -
avoid! "

This is a very very old building I think they should tear it down and rebuild a new one. Elevators are never working. There's bugs (little cockroaches) running inside the building all the time. The facilities are so torn hardly anyone uses it. Yes the rent is comparatively cheaper in the neighborhood but you get what you pay for. Always constructions downstairs, roads are all blocked, beggars and hobos wander around metro strip mall. It's ok to live there if you are an adult with very low living standard, but definitely not a place for children and elderly.

"Not recommended"

This is a poorly managed building with elevators down all the time. When I lived there I had to wait 10+ minutes every morning for the only one elevator working (if it hadn't been used for garbage). It is unacceptable especially that building has 20+ floors and they can't just keep 1 working elevator for all tenants. I complained and even wrote a complaint letter to the head office in Brampton but received no response, as no one cares. After a year and half I got fed up and moved out. I only wish I could leave sooner. Now I am living even closer to square one. Yes the rent is a bit higher with smaller unit but it is a much newer building with better everything. And most importantly, elevators are working very well and I never wait longer than 2 minutes, yeah!!

Where should I start? This building definitely has second hand smoke issues in units and hallway, but I assume most cheap old buildings have the same issue in the neighborhood so it isn't much a big deal to me. The worst are: 1) It takes 10+ min. to wait for an elevator every time as the management always closes 1 and allow only 2 working. When it's a moving in day and another elevator's occupied. It is so horrible that everytime I see ambulance out this building and I assume someone dies because there's no elevator available for speedy treatment. I strongly advise old people and people with chronic illness DO NOT RENT there, you will die for sure if there's a sudden attack. 2) There's no AC. The AC doesn't work and I am sweating when I am writing this. I honestly don't know how I can get through this summer. 3) There's facility in the building. But with no windows in the gym & sauna I feel like they are haunted. Kaneff increases the rent every year but the service is getting worse. Things are getting old. A lot of issues not heard after you speak to the building managers. I have been looking to move out but because of the influx of immigrants and refugees it is not easy to find an available 2 bedroom condo at this location.

"FIX THE AC!!!!!!!"

Do not move into this kaneff building, they have been told time and time again to turn the AC on but of course that don't listen. It's cooler outside the unit than inside which doesn't make sense. I will never rent from kaneff again and I will NEVER recommend this building to anyone. FIX IT!

Where do I start? Numerous times tenants and myself have complained about the a/c not working. It is beyond humid inside the rooms as well as in the elevator and hallways. As a result of the humidity there is a cockroach outbreak. They have now made us move out for 24 hours and WE have to pay for our stay outside while they spray the hell out of our apartment because of their mistake. They are known to enter apartments without the consent of the tenant. I have written so many work order forms stating "DO NOT ENTER UNTIL YOU CALL ME" and of course that's been overlook and they walk right in. We are dealing with unprofessional , rude, management in this building.

"Not bad - but could be
much better"

GOOD: location, 1.5 bath with 2 bdrm, locker on unit floor, indoor pool, mostly young families - not many yahoos. NOT GOOD: A/C, elevators always down, no blinds or drapes & windows come to ceiling which require you to somehow drill through concrete to put simple blinds or drapes up. Gym, pool don't open until 10am - quite useless for most working people, laundry closes at 10pm when I would like to do it. No dishwasher & not permitted to install or purchase one. Lots of 35yr old original fixtures such as stove, kitchen floor, closets, cupboards. No counter space. Traffic noise from Hurontario. Nuisance pigeons messing balcony.

Cannot believe the roaches are still around. When I lived there in the 80's and early 90's. we experienced this problem. We could not stay in the unit so we were forced to stay on the balcony.

"2nd Hand Smoke 24/7 -
Horrible building to live
in!!!"

This is a horrible building! I just moved in for a month and has been taking in 2nd hand smoke every single day. A notice has been put out advising smoking tenants to consider others but no one cares. Half of the floor are heavy chain smokers. If I had a choice again I wouldn't even moved in here even if it was for free had I known about the 2nd hand smoke problems. I had a friend (who is pregnant) visited me last weekend and she had to leave my unit immediately because of the 2nd hand smoke. I rented here because someone I know recommend Kaneff to me, I shouldn't have listened and now I regret it 1000000000 times.

I wouldn't move in here, its such a poorly maintained building. You will suffer with no ac in the summer and no heat in the winter. And always an elevator broken.
