Owned a unit in this building

"Owner"
I have owned a unit in this building for 4 years and we love it here. Amazing location, view of the Inlet and Noons Creek. Where else can you find a 2 bedroom condo with a vew in Newport Village area for these prices. Excellent value. Pets allowed, insuite washers and dryers. Unlimited rentals, great for investors. Right across the street from the Port Moody Rec Centre where there is a newly-renovated gym and lots of aerobics classes and programs, public library. Right across the Shoreline Park Trail that can take you to Rocky Point Park or Old Orchard Park, 10 minutes from Coquitlam Centre. We have a 1-/2-year-old little girl and there is so much to do around here, condo living isn't so bad with a child. Lots of mom and baby programs at the rec centre. I don't know why these units are so cheap right now, but once the skytrain comes in 2016, people will truly see what these units are worth. We will be within 1-km of the skytrain and within walking distance of Ioco station, but with a gorgeous view (not of the street!), open floor plan with lots of room for your furniture. Definitely recommend to buyers or renters.

Rented a unit in this building
Reviewed on May 21 2011
"I would NEVER buy here."
Renting in this building has been a nightmare. Although the location is great the building and some of its tenants have serious problems. Do NOT get a unit next to the elevator, there is little to no sound proofing, and like most buildings it's running day and night. The one outside my unit is constantly breaking down, you can actually hear the people stuck in it and the alarm going off. There is no sound proofing between floors, so be prepared to hear every move the person above you makes. Also if you have a noisy neighbour and they are an owner, forget about the strata doing ANYTHING. Constant parties, garbage thrown into my yard, loud music and stomping from above are my every day life, and despite numerous complaints from multiple tenants they have failed to properly address the situation. I strongly urge you to look elsewhere, it seems like the perfect place until you've moved in, signed a lease and realized what a nightmare it truly is. For what you pay here you could get a MUCH better unit elsewhere.

I JUST MOVE HERE 3 MONTHS AGO AND HAVE EXPERIENCED NO NOISE OR ELEVATOR PROBLEMS??? NOT SURE WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT BUT IT SEEMS YOUR MAIN ISSUE CAME FROM 1 OF OVER 140 UNITS... not a good way to rate a entire building... I find that this place is a amazing building, very safe and I love every aspect of it..

This building has the worse strata council ..the elevator has problems all the time so does the garage gate for parking ...open your eyes

I agree the strata here is sub par at best. They waste tons of time enforcing useless bylaws while letting other important issues slide. The way strata issues are dealt with at times is shockingly unprofessional. People who are not even on strata run around aggressively enforcing rules that appeal to them. It's a complete joke.

"Up and coming area,
Starbucks across the
street"
I have a friend who owns a unit in this building, he has lived there for 3 years. The complex has a nice courtyard, and the grounds are well kept. Starbucks and shopping (IGA) is right across the street. There was a police incident a few years ago, but other than that, it seems like a safe and good place to live. Port Moody rec centre is right across the street. There is a lot of new development in the area, new retail and residential complexes all over the place, so I believe this is also a good building for investors.smrtovnica smrtovnice
