"Loved the sunny side of
the building"
So much sunshine! We lived in a S&E facing corner unit lower down in the apartment building. Both of us are effected by winter blues and chose this place because of the quantity of light it lets in. I was surprised by how much of a difference it made living with huge windows facing directions that get sun all day. Theres a big garden on the roof of the parking garage (2nd floor). That was awesome to use too.

"Beautiful building in a
lovely community"
This building is fantastic and the caretakers are possibly the nicest people on the planet. We heard that the building had some bad seeds after it was first built, but problem people are always dealt with quickly, and now some really great people live in the building. Someone hear complained about trains. For us, it's never been a problem. The trains don't blow their horns, and there's a low rumble of trains, but nothing all that loud. Compared to living next to a busy street like anywhere near St. Johns in Port Moody, the train is absolutely quiet, and our baby never woke up because of a passing train. Like any building, it has its quirks, but considering what an awesome community Klahanie Community is, it's something to consider.

"Sahalee is okay but
disappoints"
Most of the people were nice. We're SO GLAD we RENTED and didn't OWN in this building. 1) We heard our neighbors next door and above partying in the middle of the night. 2) There was a clanking sound that could be heard in each of the rooms, particularly at night. 3) Being in a lower unit, we were subjected to headlights all night. 4) Maintenance seemed sub par. Jacuzzi was often on the brink. 5) Nearly every aspect of these units is a MAJOR CHORE to clean! The floors are porous and the only way I was able to get them clean was to scrub with Ajax by hand. 6) The units are HORRENDOUSLY EXPENSIVE to Heat!! Our first electric bill was over $300!! We then proceeded to heat the place by using the gas oven in the kitchen (not recommended from a safety standpoint but we were desperate to save money). In the summer, the unit was uncomfortably warm, yet there was no AC! 7) The 2nd bedroom was a joke. It was large enough for a crib. That's about it. 8) The unit we were in had a deck area of sorts above it. We'd hear LOUD BANGS or CLUNKS at odd hours. We think someone was rearranging heavy patio furniture but weren't clear why in the middle of the night. 9) We would occasionally hear noise from the parkade when a guy would rev his motorcycle late at night. In addition, there was one part of the parkade that would clank loudly whenever a vehicle would drive over it.

"Awful place to live in"
Train tracks right next to it (which they don't mention when showing you the unit), so trains wake you up at all hours of the night. Loud noises coming from all neighbours, you can even hear the neighbours pee, flush the toilet, etc. Caretaker is useless and hangs up on tenants requesting that he go and tell neighbours to be quiet way past 1am. Complete disaster, don't do it.

Re: Train tracks... do your research! Re: Noise level. I have rented in countless buildings. This has been one of the most soundproof buildings I have found to date!

You don't even notice the train going by on the higher floors/penthouse. Most of the noisy residents moved out now, so it's nice and quiet on the weekends.

Since when is a building maintenance guy supposed to get up at 1:00 am to talk to a neighbour. That would be the police's job.

"I heard that this
building is as safe as
any other buildings"
I heard that the Bacon brothers and their associates have been moved from this building. Now it is as safe as any other condominium unit. It is in such a beautiful area and very healthy to live area due to all the greenary surrounding it.

"Staw away! Jonathan
Bacon lives here!"
Stay away, Jonathan Bacon lives here! Twelve condos are for sale in this highrise, three of them put on the market in the past nine days. If you're renting landlords have lowered the rent to get you in. Be carefull though it could wind up getting you killed! Police have advised the public that Bacon, 28, and his brothers, Jamie, 23, and Jarrod, 26, are targeted for extermination. Jonathan survived several gunshot wounds in a 2006 assassination attempt in his Abbotsford driveway. Six bullets hit a neighbour's home, one piercing the front door. Jamie escaped a hail of bullets in an Abbotsford intersection Jan. 20. The Bacons' close associate, Kevin LeClair, 26, was shot to death Feb. 6 in Langley, a day after visiting Jonathan in Port Moody. Another close associate, Dennis Karbovanec, was shot and wounded
