"Love this building"

This is a good building which is well maintained. Love having Starbucks downstairs and the skytrain across the street. Still a relatively new building but better quality than some of those popping up in the area. The views of Metrotown are incredible.

"Non-Smokers Beware"

Some owners tried to amend the bylaws by banning anyone smoking on outside balconies and patios. The proposal was defeated in the 2012 annual general meeting. Among 73 votes, only 25 in favor, 40 against, 8 abstained. Since it requires 75% votes in favor to change the bylaws, it is apparent that smokers have more influence in the strata and any change to make the building smoke-free will not happen in near future.

"Tandem"

I visited my friend who lives in the Tandem building infront of the skytrain, and contrary to what everyone says, it's beautiful! We were visiting all evening and I didn't notice the skytrain noise. It's such a convenient location without being too busy, and there's even a starbucks downstairs! No need for a coffee maker ; o This building is high on my list

Thank you, Terri unregistered user on April 2 2015: 4178 Dawson Street- Tandom Tower. I put in an offer for one of the units there. The realtor was sure there are no restrictions for dogs as he has saw many large dogs in the building. Now I find out that there is a hight restriction for dogs. I really love the unit. How can I work things out. My dog is big, but very quiet, well behaved senior and nobody even knows that he lives in the building. Can provide references from current landlord and neighbours. "Too Hot in Summer"

I agree with "Fiveforfight" when he says: "Some of the condos that face to the north and west are very close to the skytrain." I would like to add that to the south are train tracks. Two or three times a day, a train passes by and has to blow its horn when crossing Gilmore Street. South, West and North West sides get unbearably hot in summer and because of the noise from Automobile Trafic on Dawson Street, Skytrain and Train, you cannot open the windows. If you like to sleep in late on Sundays, you will have to bear the noisy trucks belonging to building contractors who come to Home Depot across the Street. There are eight units per floor, and with no rental restictions, to many rifraffs and boisterous rufians reside here.

Comment on this Review: unregistered user on December 23 2010: The building does get warm in the summer, but it's not too hard to fix. Simply put a portable air conditioner in the bedroom window and a fan blowing into the main room... this will cool the apartment down and still remain quiet. For the noise outside, it's barely audible when the windows are closed. "Ok Condo But Can Be
Better"

I have looked all 3 Tandem Towers and they are pretty much all the same. I was looking at the 2bed layout and to my dissapointment the layout is a make of a SHOEBOX. Where you walk in and the dining and living room is just in front of the kitchen. It makes the design very plain and boring. Not much of a design I think. I did not like the layout besides the nice contemporary kitchen. Other than that their is nothing really good to say or different compare to many Condo's out there. Very boring layout. Would highly recommend going a block east to check out OMA instead.

"Starbucks at your
doorstep"

Nice condos with nice kitchens (granite and stainless steel appliances). Some of the condos that face to the north and west are very close to the skytrain. Convenient that you can go downstairs, grab a coffee at starbucks, walk across the street and hop on the skytrain to go to work or school.
