The Buchanan East at 4398 Buchanan Street was the first of three Buchanan towers built by Appia Developments in the Brentwood area. This modern building, inside and out, features floor to ceiling windows, maple cabinetry and granite countertops in the kitchens, private park only for residents, underground secured parking and, most of all, convenience.

Built on top of the Winners/Save-On-Foods shopping centre, you can hop downstairs to Save-On-Foods, which is open from 6am until midnight daily. SkyTrain, Brentwood Town Centre, daycare, and many other shops and services are within close walking distance. Views from the suites include the North shore mountains, downtown Vancouver, the Metrotown area, Mt. Baker and Burnaby Mountain.

"Shopping right
downstairs.."

I work in the Brentwood area of Burnaby, in an office that is a part of the Buchanan complex. I have friends who have owned units in Buchanan East, and have spent a lot of time overall in the complex. What simply cannot be beat is having Save On Foods and other shopping (Winners, etc), coffee shops, right downstairs. And so close to Brentwood Mall and Skytrain. On the downside, from time to time there have been vehicle break ins, and I find the parking lot to be tight in certain places. Overall though, I believe Buchanan East is a very comfortable place to live and spend time.smrtovnica smrtovnice

"Clean and Convenient
location!"

We used to own a 2 bed suite in this building. I was facing Southeast and very bright and warm. I liked this building so much because there was a Save-on-foods, winners and other stores downstairs. I had a small baby and it was so convenient to go shopping when it's raining. Also that building was brand-new and clean, had a nice hot tub and a recreation room which we used for our son's birthday party. Also it had a big patio on the 3rd floor and my son could run around without any danger of car going by. The cons were: the elevators were slow and tend to break down, a few theft in underground parking and in some suites. smrtovnica smrtovnice

"Nice Building Good
Location"

Very nice building. When we lived in this building we had a baby. We had a two bedroom condo and it was just right for us. Gas fireplace and the condo was quite spacious, clean and felt very fresh and new. We loved the fact the building was right on top of Save on Foods so we could run downstairs and pick up some food anytime we wanted to. Great building.

Honest review. Pros and cons. My family and I are just going to move out at the end of the month. The building is clean and the location is excellent. Having Save On Food and Winners downstairs is really convenient and save you on gas. But, we decided to move out after two year because of the constant fire alarm during the night specially during winter time. This week it happened two times and it takes about 30 to 45 minutes for the fire department to get to there, verify if there's any real fire and turn off the sirens. It happens at least 15 times per year. No one takes it seriously anymore and it is concerning. Another negative part is the visitors parking lot. It happened to me two time to have my car's window broken in and at least once per month some car is chosen. So, if you don't need to use the visitors' parking lot you'll be fine and if you don't mind about the fire alarms this is your place. Otherwise I would think better before closing the deal. I hope this helps. I wish I had read an honest review like this before moving in.
