"Horrible infrastructure"

This building is constantly shutting down plumbing, air conditioner, elevator services. The latest is that because the developer and the property management have no accurate schematics of the plumbing infrastructure, the condo management is shutting off the water every day from August 22 to Sept 4 from 9am to 4pm. Forget about daily life, washing dishes , laundry, etc while they attempt to map pipes. On top of this and even worse is that they spent the entire summer so far trying to 'reset' the air conditioning system for the building. While this was a moderate inconvenience (we only had to shut it off entirely for 2 different nights during sweltering heat), they didn't manage to make one iota of difference to its function which is entirely in adequate. My AC is cranked, and it's 28° inside. Insult to injury is that the 25' foot high lobby where one person (so called concierge) sits is extremely cool. They don't allow use of the moving elevator on Sundays which for many people is 50% of their available time ever to move things. While it's nice and dog friendly, they have no grass on the property...the hallway carpets are always pissed ridden and they over salt the entrance despite the fact that 50% of owners have dogs. They test their fire alarms on Sundays and they drag on and on because no one seems to know how to operate the security system

"Lots of hype but very
impractical"

This building was just opening as I was condo hunting. The building was heavily promoted. One of the suites I looked at was 2 bedroom duplex (two stories). About 1/4 of the total floor space was taken up by staircase, non-livable space that is nonetheless counted as part of the square footage of the unit. Upstairs were two of the tiniest bedrooms I've ever seen. One looked like it would barely accommodate a double bed and a bedside table and that's it. The other could only be useful if the bed was a twin. I think what happens sometimes is that people get carried away with all the promotion and newness of a building and don't think practically about what they're getting for what they're paying. Twenty-five percent of a floor plan devoted to a stairway is impractical and a tremendous waste of money. I'd be interested in knowing how the building has fared. It had lots of modern looking and shiny things both in the lobby and in the suites, but my inspection led me to believe that products and finishes were not built to be long-lasting or of very high quality, even though they may have looked that they were high end.
