"Fantastic building"
Wanted to live here for 20 years. Cant beat the value for the sq footage. Huge rooms with amenities and lots of in condo storage - a storage room in your own condo and huge closet space as well. Building maintenance may seem high but not on a sq ft basis. Given half the building is commercial- as in professional offices. There are only just over 100 owner suites that have access to amenities that normally are in condos for many hundreds of owners. Rooftop garden with patio and BBQs is another added bonus. Security and upkeep is well high end hotel level. Walk everywhere - and parking both surface for guests and underground is easy. I was also amazed how lightly travelled carlton is to come and go re: when u happen to use your car. Also the footprint - it is not a megahighrise on a postage size lot - but has amazing streetscape with nicely maintained gardens and koi pond. The building is getting another facelift for next year - transforming it into a showpiece for the garden district. Units don't come up that often (plus there aren't that many of them to begin with). Friendly owners that also happen to be active in making toronto the great city it is. If you want to live downtown and in a good size condo look no further than 130 Carlton. jim

"130 Carlton Street"
This building offers fantastic price given the size of units found in newer Toronto condos. Maintenance fees are high given the many amenities and level of cleaning and security service offered. The condo board is very active and the building is well managed with a social committee and newsletter to boot. It can feel like a retirement home given the average age of residents - but it's quiet and generally residents are very friendly and love their condo. It's is definitely the nicest condo in the garden district. It's a vibrant neighbourhood with schools, shops, parks, the gay village, streetcar and subway access, loblaws. Most units sell very quickly when put on the market and most have seen some level of renovation - but it's case by case.

"High maintenance fees but
well worth it"
My partner and I have lived in this building for 12 years. The suites and amenities are amazing even though the building isn't the epitome of architectural excellence. Condo fees are high by Toronto standards but you get what you pay for: excellent security, dependable property management, thorough cleaning staff, great amenities -- even cable TV is included. The building is in excellent condition for a 1984 Tridel construction and the reserve fund is healthy (with scheduled elevator replacement, window replacement etc. in the near future). On a per-square-foot basis, the purchase prices of units in the building provide one of the best downtown Toronto condo deals. The neighbourhood has also been improving over the past decade and continues to do so.

"130 Carlton St Toronto"
130 Carlton is a luxury condo. Moved in 2011, the size is incrediable, great value for the price. Security is excellent along with so many amenities such as a pool, sauna, exercise room, and billiards to many others to mention. The roof deck is nicely landscaped with great seating and beautiful gardens not to mention the whirlpool. Lived in many condos during the last 30 years in Toronto and this is certainly the most quiet and well managed condo.

I lived there for 15 years and the area has really not gotten any better - maintenance is extremeley high for the area and prices are low - 275.00 - 300.00 sq. ft. bad news

From my visits to this building the security guards and residents and lobby and building decor all appear to be of the retirement old folks home category

Sounds like a puff piece by an agent.
