"Love it here"
Loved how close to everything it is. There's shopping/groceries, restaurants, city hall, the rec centre, Eagle Ridge hosp, Rocky Point Park and the trails, transit. There's easy parking when you're visiting. We grew out of our apt and had to get a townhouse so moved out of the village. One bonus that I loved was the natural gas fireplace which you dont find in the new apts/townhouses. Never had any security issues. The village is very dog friendly. The noise from the street wasnt bad unless you need silence all the time (but why would you be looking in this area if that was the case?) At Christmas there's old fashioned carolers that stroll around singing...it's just a lovely atmosphere for kids and small families. They have a family festival every summer. Easy to meet with friends for a coffee with 2 great coffee shops in the village. I was worried when I moved in that the ambulances from the hospital would be noisy, or the firetrucks from the firehall down the road...but it wasn't been a problem at all. Sometimes the coffee shop has open mic and you have performers singing in the evening - fun to go watch. Basically the noise comes from a lively urban atmosphere and not from domestic disturbances or late night house parties. Strata wa well run & the caretaker was great, attentive and quick to respond. Strata fees were on the higher side but you get what you pay for and the newer condos in Klahanie are quickly catching up. Loved it here.
