With the arrival of a new building management company, Canlight Hall, in late Fall 2013, 85 Bloor St. E. is, once again, a professionally managed building. Maintenance is responsive to service requests. There have been no temperature issues to speak of since my arrival in mid-2013. It is a safe, quiet, well-maintained, and brilliantly located building.

"NOT A WELL MANAGED
BUILDING!"

Perfect location but unfortunately not well managed for the past 2 years. EVERY summer, the air conditioning breaks down on the most humid of days. 2 summers back, it was out for 3 days on a weekend when we had 40 deg plus temps! Same last year and at present no air conditioning mid July for the past 2 days and more to go. Secondly, carpets have huge stains that have not been removed for a year now. You CANNOT complain as you are blacklisted. I wrote the president of board to complain about management and she was livid that I was complaining to her. She told me to complain to management (about management?!) Hello, you the president? So, they wont listen to what you have to say and management has a field day. Next, they come into your unit 4 or 5 times a year for maintenance. Instead of doing a couple of things at once, they will come one day, then the next week again. Resident inconvenience is never a factor. No hot water early morning on weekends. The 'state of the art' gym in the bldg is useless as the cardio equipment has not been serviced in 6 years and is squeaky and terrible. For the steam room, you have to wait 20 minutes for it to start. You want more....? Its too bad, this building could be really good if managed well.

We have the same company for 55Stewart street and I think we all need to unite and get the truth out there as to what this company is doing! There's a serious concern I have on them and they charge without approvals and never pick up phone calls. I'll also find the name of the president although I see it's useless!
