I wish we found this review before we moved in. We are not learning about this corrupt Strata Council, its all about the cash grab, they hand out finds with no justification or proof. Walls are incredibly thin, like this reviewer stated, carpets have been redone in the common areas though and some maintenance has since been done since their review but over all this is not a nice place to live. Very Corrupt.

As an owner/landlord in Barclay Woods 9857 for the last 23 years I have seen councils come and go, but never have I experienced a corrupt council. In each case at least 2 warning letters are sent out and owners are given the opportunity to speak to council before a fine is levied. As for the condition of the buildings, they have been renovated inside and out (and regular maintenance is always underway). Barclay Woods has a strong strata council, a strong contingency fund and is a lovely place to live. In my opinion the only people who run into problems at Barclay Woods are undesirable owners and irresponsible land lords.

This is for the 9867 building which is part of Barclay Woods. The management company who supposedly “manages” this building along with the building manager they hired are absolutely awful. The woman who manages this building does the bare minimum. She does not reside on the property and is only in the office part time which gives you an idea how poorly this building is run. Burnt out lights go for months and months without being replaced, people let their dogs defacate in the hallways with no consequence, janitorial clean up is not properly done and not often enough, litter everywhere on the property and everything looks dirty and run down. There is no janitorial service or building manager here on weekends. Someone had puked all over the elevator floor and wall on Friday night and it was not properly cleaned till Monday. Just so unacceptable. Building security is nil, my vehicle was vandalized in the underground car park, owners let drug addicts and dealers rent their suites and somehow this is allowed by the strata. I’ve personally seen drugs deals happen on the property as well as drug users use the building property to use their drugs. It is a common occurrence to see RCMP here. The strata has been replacing patios and patio doors and the whole process has ridiculously taken over two years and is still not complete. Scaffolding is being left up for months and months which causes huge security issues. Also, I have never lived in a building where the walls are so thin. I can hear every footstep, drawer open and close, toilet flush of my upstairs neighbor as well as I can hear people in their apartments clear as day as I walk through the hall and vice versa, I can hear everyone in the hall through the walls and door of my apartment. I can also here my neighbors on both sides of me, snoring, etc... My advice is to stay far away from buying or renting here.

This place is awful. They make up stuff and send you notice to pay for stuff like dude are you going to come fix the place before i pay for shit this building is horrible i gotten 3 notice because i cant keep my stuff on the patio i own this apartment and whu cant i. This place has horrible people runing this place

This building has a silver fish infestation, crawling everywhere on the hallway carpets and they crawl under the door into my apartment. Disgusted.
