Owned a unit in this building

"Poorly Maintained"
This building has two elevators and for the past year or so only one has been working. Recently both elevators no longer work. There has been little to no action in getting this fixed. Money is being paid out in installments to get this fixed but there have been no changes. There was one occurrence where the mail boxes were broken into, police were called but nothing came of the investigation. No one was caught. The amenities room is garbage. A pool table with no pool sticks, air hockey table with broken equipment and a very out-dated gym set (old equipment, bike, treadmill). The place is OK to rent, but anyone considering buying from here will have more to pay in strata fees. The building is old.

"Very convenient."
I know a few people that lived in this building. It was a very convenient location. The were students at Douglas College and were renting in the building. We had many places to eat and to shop. Great place for young people in my opinion.

"A great value"
I lived in a 2-bedroom/2-bathroom in this building for a year, and have had a steady stream of friends that lived in the building as well. I LOVED this building. I had a corner unit - it was bright and cheery with an amazing view. I had a roommate and the layout of the unit was perfect for sharing space, with the bedrooms at opposite ends of the apartment. The master bedroom was large and spacious. The building has an outdoor pool which is well maintained and got great use in the summer months. Location was great with close proximity to skytrains and Douglas college. Building is a little dated, but overall great value!

"Good But a Little Dated"
I used to often visit my friend who lived in this building. It was an extremely convenient location. If we wanted food or drinks we didn't have to go far. The only negative I can remember is the building seemed a little old and dated.

"Great location, popular
building"
I rented in this building for almost 5 years. My unit was a 1 bedroom, on the 9th floor, and had a very large balcony, partially covered. I loved this unit, as it was so bright, and the view of the Fraser River and New West Quay were spectacular. The complex has a heated outdoor pool, large rec/exercise room, and decent sized storage lockers. The building has always been very well managed. The location is great as well -- walking distance to Skytrain, and shopping (IGA, etc). Downsides are that the building is aging -- it's 25 years old this year I believe. Also, there was an issue once with security in the parking lot, but additional security equipment was installed, and the problem did not last very long. Overall, Amara Terrace was a great place to live.smrtovnica smrtovnice
