"Terrible elevator system,
repeated fire alarm,
unhelpful front desk"

I have been living at 65 Bremner Blvd for 1.5 years now and it is absolutely one of the worst buildings I have ever lived in: 1. Repeated fire alarms at all times of the day. When I first moved in last year, the fire alarms went off three times on consecutive nights in the middle of the night. Since then, it has been going off once or twice a month. Whenever the fire alarm went off, the security made repeated and useless broadcasts which made the situation worse. Same thing happened again today (June 8, 2014) 2. Since there is a hotel on the first eight floors, one has to take the elevator to the 9th floor first. Since the elevator system is NOT very intelligent. During rush hours, it is not unusual to take 5+ minutes to go down / up the elevator. 3. Front desk here is absolutely useless. For example, if you have a large package to be delivered to your home and you are not around, then good luck as the front desk will not hold the package for you and they will not let you know. If your package is addressed to someone not on your condo name list, your package will be returned as the front desk would not even bother to ask. If you want to move in on a certain date, please make sure that you book well in advance, otherwise, they are most likely unable to accommodate you. This is a horrible building for what you pay. Thank god that I am moving out soon.

"Horrible management who
are essentially crooks"

I have NEVER in my past moves (approx 15-20 moves over the past 8 years) have had such a bad experience moving in as I did in this condo. My mom was making casual conversation to the lady standing next to her (not about management), and the concierge man yelled at my mom and said, "If you make one more comment, I will not help you out and refuse the elevator to you!" The concierge refused to allow me to move my sofa from the front doors. They wanted me to drive to the unloading dock which was several streets away and RETURN DURING THE NIGHT TIME (i.e. 9 hours later) to move the sofa in. After a LOT of argument, the concierge basically told me, "If there is ONE scratch ANYWHERE, your $300 deposit is gone.". I was extra careful with the moving of the sofa, where we used 4 people to move the sofa and use ourselves as human barriers to protect the building from any damage. Afterwards, I told the concierge immediately when I was finished with the elevator. TWO HOURS LATER, the concierge calls me telling me that there is a scratch on the wall (2 scratches on the wall, about 5cm long) and proceeds to blame us for the scratch and says that our $300 deposit will be taken from us. We of course put up a huge fight, however, the concierge insisted that we had "damaged their building". About half an hour later, we got a call saying there was a miscommunication and since it was only a tiny scratch, he was going to let it go this time. Horrible and untrustworthy people!

They are called rules for a reason. If you cant carry it by hand, book the elevator. Everyone else does it, you should to. You think I want to deal with people moving sofas in the main elevator? There is a service elevator for a reason.
