"Stay Away and Don;t
Believe the Realtors -
They Lie"
This condo building is one of the worst run in the city, despite its high prices and yuppy clientele. The management company is dishonest in its affairs - it hires illegal workers to pay them extremely low wages, and it provides no contacts with the company during emergencies, or after the cleaner has gone home. There is no security and various undesirables frequent the outside of the building late at nght as there is a nightclub across the street. There have been breakins and police called to deal with intruders. The weight room on the 9th floor is not in a good location as it bothers the tenants on the 8th floor, and this makes it impossible to work out properly. One tenant had his car vandalized after altercations with other tenants because of the noise. The turnover rate among owners is extremely high, so don't believe the realtors; they're dishonest. Stay away from this building. We're sure glad we moved!

Thanks so much for being honest about this building. I also lived in this building a few years ago,so happy to finally sell my unit and move far away.
Ditto for me! I'm glad someone is finally speaking up.
Fast forward a few years later: I also live in this building, and some of the above is not true. Unless this person was on the board, they would not have accurate knowledge about illegal workers, low wages, no contracts etc...rumours? or fights with other tenants over noise resulting in car damage...(unless he was one of the people involved - and if so that speaks to quality and anger management of the people involved. Don't believe the posters, sometimes, they don't really know either, or exaggerate or over generalize. Gym has been updated, elnarged and soundproofed and is an excellent and complete work out facility. Many many buildings do not have security or conscierge (245 Davisville, for example) ...'break ins' (2 in 15 yrs) occurred on two occasions - someone just randomly called up many random residents on the entry panel and one of these people stupidly let them in. Signs are posted and current residents are not buzzing in anyone they don't know. Turn over not very high lately. Nightclub gone.
Wow someone is bitter. I know someone in this building and they say is article is not a objective at all. I have used the new gym and it is great. Has everything I get at Goodlife, except a shower.
I have owned my condo at 188 Eglinton Ave. E and lived in the building for the past 5 years and have loved living here. In regards to the comment about the property management office, we have had a few different management companies over the years because our board is extremely good at making sure our building is well managed and taken care of. We currently have a great property management company. Yes, there is no conscierge (as was mentioned above, and not every building does) but I have always felt safe in the building (no break ins, etc.), as well in the surrounding area. I walk my dog late at night and walk home at all different times during the night and have always felt completely safe. The bar, not "nightclub", across the street (The Unicorn Pub) has since closed. As was also mentioned, our amenities and common areas have been updated in the last few years. Ex. Hallways, gym, and party room have all been completely renovated and are functional and beautiful. I have also parked my car in the garage and have had many visitors park their cars in my garage and have never had any damages occur. The turn over of occupants in the building has also never been high in the last 5 years (since 2012) since I've lived here. There has only been a handful of units that have come on the market in the last five years (mostly due to the fact that people have moved to homes - needing more space) and there are a lot of people in the building who owned and lived here since the developer converted the building. Therefore, disregard the post above as it is no longer (and possibly never) accurate.
Does anyone know if the units on the 8th floor are residential or what the deal is with the 8th floor?
