"Not worth the time to
look"
Owners maintain their suites, although this has no rental and no pets investment owners have bought and installed tenants and even council members are not following the bylaws. No pets means no pets for anyone. Council fails to do their job, the commercial owner respects no one and a numbered account is buying up condos to rent out. This is not a owner resident friendly complex. Condos continue to be severely devalued and maintenance is not done on structural items.

This must be the jerk who has decided to make pets an issue wheen pets have been at that building for decades. They bylaws need to be changed to reflect the reality that pets are a way of life. Condo nazi's have to get past the idea that if they don't like pets nobody gets one. The repair problem has todo with the abundance of near death owners who don't want to sink their assets into a building they'll be leaving shortly. It's irresponsible as hell but selfishness is abundant among the aged.
There have, indeed, been many terrible problems that arose from some 20 to 30 years of owners choosing to vote down essential maintenance, while keeping monthly fees at a deceptively low rate that, while popular, did not reflect the fiscal reality of upkeep. Money that should have gone into the upkeep of the building instead often seemed to go – from what I could see – into interior decorating and expensive furnishings. This criminally irresponsible behaviour was by no means restricted by age group, nor is it restricted to this condominium complex. That being said, the complex is currently undergoing a comprehensive 18 month renovation (completion date: Spring 2014) that will result in a return to appropriate market values. As for bylaw conflicts of opinions, unfortunately that will never end – not in Stadacona Centre and not anywhere else.
This is going to be a beautiful state of the building once the Reno are complete. The problems that will arise are as follow. With so many condo being build competion to sell will be very difficult . The by laws in this building are ridiculous and need to be altered . No bbq's . No pets ? Every new busing allies pets sometimes multiple . The demographic who buys condi's are single people or couples with no children . Guess what they have in common . They all have or want pets. So when this building is finished and it's time for you to sell. No one will come knocking . This start council also strongly discourages children . That is a basic human right ... Yes there is renters but nit for long when building is Done. It will never be the building but the owners now need to swing into the 21 first century !
There has been a two bedroom on the market FOREVER, any ideas why? Is there's something wrong with it? Is the building that bad to live in? Please explain.
Ridiculously outdated opinions! Just tour building to learn truth - a terrific building completely reno'd.
ridiculously outdated opinions. Now, a completely reno'd building inside/out. look before judging. You'll be shocked by how wrong the above comments are.
why so many units for sale?
I don't like plugging specific realtor, but bccondos indicated that the current spring residential offering here is 20 units that are currently being rented. That means that the owner(s) of those units are done with them, whether it was privately owned or owned by the property management company. That's a shallow answer for why they are on sale though.
They are on sale because an investor wants to get rid of his units.
