"Renters Beware!"

Lived for 2 yrs in the building, and left because I couldn't take it anymore. The parking situation is atrocious; the strata does nothing, even though fees are $225+/month; and the noise from crappy neighbours/people cutting through the yard (area is not secured) are all reason(s) that will drive a person nuts. Did I mention that people's dogs crap all over the yard? Save yourself the headache, and skip this one

"No Parking..."

Parking was awful. No maintenance done with the parking lot (snow removal, lines painted, etc). Not to mention the construction noise happening with the new condos being built right next door.

"Look Elsewhere..."

I can't count the amount of people that moved in and out of this building in the span of two years (at least 20+). Comprised of mostly young(er) people. Can't even say "working professionals" because I don't know how you could hold down a job, let alone a career with the amount of pot that was being smoked on a daily basis (smell travels people! Everyone knows what you're doing!) and the amount of partying going on (sound still travels through the cement walls). In the winter especially, there'd usually be someone drugged out in the stairwell and they'd leave their dirty needles behind. No parking lot security or regulations (guy had his windshield smashed in one night). All the parking lines are so faded, you can't tell one stall from another. No winter maintenance (sidewalks not shovelled or de-iced and parking lot not plowed). No pet regulations. Lots of dogs in the building that did their business all over the courtyard (don't go on the grass in the summer!!!) upside was the walking distance to DT, in suite laundry (depends on your unit) and fairly cheap to rent (compared to other DT locations), just don't make plans to stay long term.

"Terrible Strata
Management"

Rented for 3 years in The Sycamore. Have never lived in such a poorly mismanaged building in my life. No parking lot security or rules (people frequently parked in the "no parking" area or in reserved stalls and NOTHING was done about it). Strata said that 24 hours notice had to be given to someone before they would tow them, even though there were signs clearly outlining appropriate parking stalls for visitors. Snow maintenance in winter was non existent. Laundry room was rarely cleaned and, as with the parking lot, no consequences were given for somebody breaking the rules (ex: using another persons designated laundry time). They made the bad decision to allow dogs in the building with ZERO restrictions on size so there were some BIG dogs living in tiny condos. Dog owners were never fined for allowing their dogs to poop and pee all over the yard. No fines were ever given for noise, despite multiple complaints against (always the same) units. Would never recommend buying or renting in this building unless you don't own a car (so no headaches about the parking situation) and you like to smoke pot and party (as the majority of the people who owned units there always had people over to party). TERRIBLE!
