"Silverfish"
This building is loaded with them. I kill at least 10-20 a day on a casual basis. I complained several times to management and was simply told I would have to rip out my flooring and caulk around the whole perimeter. They were generous enough to offer pest control to come to my place...at my expense of course. However this is unacceptable since Silverfish have been spotted all over the building and it is obvious the whole building is infested. I myself spotted a few of them in my apartment within 2 days of my moving in, and had not seen any in any of my previous homes so I know I did not bring them. In fact I did not know what they were until I moved here and did a little research. This is not a knock against the management as they are friendly and are generally quite helpful. I guess since silverfish only cause damage to the tenants contents and not to the actual building they feel it is not their responsibility. But it is and they refuse to do anything about it.... they even cut back on pest control costs this year :(

I lived in a rental in West Van that had silverfish. (grossed me out when I came home late one night) -- My Grandmother told me to use Epsom Salt and it worked. (available in the Pharmacy section)
Thanks for the tip. I put it along the baseboards. Haven't seen any since I put it down.
Silverfish are a problem in this building and epsom salts does not work
