"Ashton Place (cont.)"

The biggest problem we had at Ashton Place was not the building. There are many nice people in the building as well. There are some grumpy old men that live in the building. There is one woman who is very controlling. She manages to get on council each year and she is a bit of a crazy person. She comes across as friendly but she is gossipy and into everyone's business. She is the type that will harass you for not cutting up your cardboard into appropriate sized pieces or report you to the management company for having an air conditioner. Trouble is, does She follow the rules? Hardly. And if you ever point this out to her, be prepared to feel her wrath! Some have said she's crazy and she has made some of the nicest people here miserable at times. So I'd have to say she is the biggest problem at Ashton Place. There have been some very grumpy old people living at Ashton Place and this gal that I described above is one of them. There has been some turn over at Ashton Place in recent months and there are some younger people moving into the building which I think will help offset some of the crazies (the controlling old fogies).

"Ashton Place"

Ashton Place is located in a great part of North Van. It is only steps away from the RBC bank, Starbucks and Extra Foods. The location is central yet quiet. Not only that, at the other end of 18th Street is a lovely hiking trail that winds around and crosses a river from time to time (Mahon Park). The building has been well maintained and the top floors are rather nice with vaulted ceilings and skylights. The hallways are cheerful since they have natural light from the skylights in the corner and a large archway across from the elevator. Those on the 1st floor get nice yards, some even have a private entrance. I don't know how anyone can stand to live on the 2nd floor because these units have neither the vaulted ceilings and skylights or a yard and the hallway on this floor has no natural light, except for that which manages to pass through some lame glass bricks.

I used to live in this building ON the second floor and there is natural light in every suite. The video shown here was taken in a suite ON the second floor. Suggest someone may have had a personal beef... both negative comments noted above are on the same day. Wonder who moved out right around then? The building has a progressive council and an aggressive plan in place which is being overseen by a professional to maintain this building's condition.

A friend of mine wanted to buy one of the units in this building but she had someone do a casual inspection and was advised that there would be some expensive work coming up so she decided not to buy into it.
