Nicer atmosphere when the units were new. The only amenity is the clubhouse but not worth the strata fees. The gardens in the back of some units are horrible. No grass, just mud. Quite the turnover of families (and Strata managers). Most neighbours have dogs which is a problem at times in the park areas. A lot of problems with flooding and leaks in some units over the years, as well as parking issues and loud music.

I agree with the previous review. The clubhouse is inaccessible except by booking and paying although I imagined our strata fees covered this. Also the park is an eyesore, kids destroying the equipment and vandalising the trees etc. Something needs to be done
You can always tell how complexes really are by looking at the landscaping. If the landscapes are beautiful the value goes up, but if they're ugly the value goes down.
I agree with the above. I enjoy living in Hathaway Village but the children have really beat up on the green space. At one point the Strata was trying to crack down on it. Not sure if that worked. The clubhouse is kept locked because it was also destroyed by kids who's parents let them go in unsupervised. Some yards have trouble growing grass because the trees give too much shade. Other than that the gardeners really do work hard to keep it all looking good.
It's a beautiful well managed complex. For almost 15 years old, the buildings are in excellent shape and look new. The builder did a great job with nice well thought out floorplans. It's very quiet. You cannot hear your neighbours and the mature trees lining the property provide a sound barrier and privacy. Yes, some of the yards cannot grow grass but that is because of the shady trees. The landscapers do a great job at keeping the common areas looking good. It's located in a good neighborhood within west newton. The complex is friendly and family oriented. We've really enjoyed living in Hathaway village.
