"Unbending Strata Council"

My husband and I viewed and fell in love with a condo in this building. My husband spent 25 years serving Richmond as a firefighter and we were looking for an apartment closer to our children now we are getting older. Our offer was accepted, everything went through until we noticed our goldendoodle was over the 10kg weight limit the strata had imposed. We got a letter from our doctor stating she is an important part of my husbands daily excersize as he does have some medical problems. This was a ground floor unit so we didn't even have to bring her into the elevator or down the hallways. I cannot believe that some strata councils are so unbending, we were not even given the opportunity for the council to see our dog, we would have signed any papers they required to ensure all other pet rules were obeyed. Shame on them, things are bad enough as you get older without people telling you that the dog that steadies my husband when he walks and has on occasion helped him up when he has fell is not welcome in that building.
